Sharks in the Mountains (SITM)
In May or June of each year, 928 Specialists (www.928gt.com), a vendor specializing in supplying Porsche 928 parts, hosts a special gathering in Banner Elk, North Carolina. The event typically attracts around 100 Porsche 928s and their enthusiastic owners. It's a weekend event featuring a Saturday afternoon picnic, a spirited drive up and down Grandfather Mountain, dinner at a local restaurant and a party at the home of the owners of 928 Specialists, Dave and Jeannie Roberts. Meeting (and having a few drinks) with all the other owners is reason enough to attend this event. 928 owners fill the Best Western in Banner Elk.
